People often think Stu has a very slight West Country twang. He has never lived anywhere near that part of the country. ππ
Stu once hosted an occasional club night called Splosh-A-Rama, in celebration of famous cinematic food fights. It was intended to be puerile, childish entertainment; but came to an abrupt end when loads of pervy types turned up, asking to have custard poured into their pants. ππ
Stu makes all of his own stage costumes from recycled vintage fabrics. He loves to find authentic 70s platform shoes and breathes new life into them with a sequin here and there. Would you believe it! How fab is that. ππ
Pop Magic was one of Stu’s touring shows, where audience members made a pop song and video from scratch in one hour. It was always fun; with some glorious, hilarious and occasionally terrifying results. Ladypat made the videos, of course – and they are all preserved for posterity on YouTube. ππ
Stu began his showbiz career running Dynamite Boogaloo with Dynamite Sal and Dolly Rocket It ran for 17 years from 1992-2007. The trio have a combined age of 167. ππ
Stu used to design knitwear. Bjork loved his designs, and so did Sinitta. Stu’s only proper job was for a knitwear company in New York. He spent almost every night at clubs and parties, marvelling at the likes of RuPaul, Lady Bunny and Susanne Bartsch; then rolling in to work very hungover and usually being sick in the toilets. ππ
Despite never actually visiting Japan, Boogaloo Stu has released a Best Of Boogaloo Stu compilation album there. Fancy that! ππ
